The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That!  Premier Day Party

The Dallas Zoo hosts the premiere screening celebration of THE CAT IN THE HAT KNOWS A LOT ABOUT THAT!, the new animated television series debuting September 6th on PBS KIDS. The event features a science based scavenger hunt, screenings of the series premiere, story-time readings from the Cat in the Hat Learning Library series that Seuss developed for Random House, and more. Meet the Cat in the Hat from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Geometric Interpretations: Works Using Paper

Monday, September 6th at 11:00 am at Geometric MADI, Dallas, TX

Paper woven and shaped into "undulating waves of geometric form" is how organizers describe works by Rusty Scruby in the new show at the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art. Scruby, who draws from his interests in science and music "to create his multifaceted woven paper constructions," is the headliner.

AnimeFest

Friday, September 4th from 12:00 pm – 11:59 pm at Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion Tower

This paean to all things anime (Japanese animation, both hand- and computer-drawn) is set for today Sept. 3 through Monday at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Dallas. The fest is expected to draw as many as 6,500 people. Japanese  and theÖ, director Kazuyoshi KatayamaÖguests will include screenwriter Dai Sato band Nirgilis.
