“Behind the Spotlight” : An evening of fine art and great opera

Fort Worth Opera"Behind the Spotlight": A Night of Fine Art and Great Opera

On Tuesday, March 19th, Fort Worth Opera and Amon Carter Museum of American Art are showcasing songs from Glory Denied along with photographs and a discussion that considers the long lasting impact of war on husbands, wives, and families.

"Behind the Spotlight" will feature discussions with Glory Denied composer Tom Cipullo and Amon Carter Senior Curator of Photographs John Rohrbach, with FWOpera General Director Darren K. Woods as moderator. Mr. Rohrbach will present a selection of photographs from the Museum's collection that illustrate the Vietnam War's effect on American culture, while Mr. Cipullo will discuss the inspiration, evolution and relevancy of his opera on our current generation. Following the conversation, Glory Denied star Michael Mayes and FWOpera Young Artist Corrie Donovan will perform selections from the opera.

Join us for this unique opportunity to meet the show's star and composer, while enjoying an all over VIP experience featuring docent lead guided tours of the Museum's collection.

Due to overwhelming interest amongst our patrons, the night is split into two programs – the first beginning at 6:00 PM, and the second at 7:15 PM. Doors open at 5:45
