East Dallas TX

East Dallas has the largest number of historic homes in Dallas, some dating back to 1894. These can be found in the wonderful areas known as Munger Place, Swiss Avenue, the M Streets, Greenland Hills, Vickery Place, Santa Monica, Hollywood Heights, Lakewood, Gastonwood and Junius Heights to name a few. These historic homes surround a 1254 acre lake called White Rock Lake.

Bath House Cultural Center Dallas TXEast Dallas is bordered by Highway 30 to the south, Northwest Highway or Loop 12 to the north, Central Expressway or Highway 75 to the west and Ferguson Road to the east. This area has always been a special gem in the Dallas landscape. 

White Rock Lake is the only recreational lake located in the heart of Dallas. White Rock Lake is home to many varieFerris Wheel Fair Park Dallas TXties of flora and fauna, including a colony of wild parrots residing on the southwest shore. Housed within the confines of this wonderful park area is the Dallas Arboretum, The Boat House, The Bathhouse Cultural CenterWinfrey Point and the first dog park located in Dallas. There is a 9.3 mile bike and jogging trail that encompasses the lake. You can find locals enjoying the trail and lake year round.

Fair Park is another famous landmark located in East Dallas. Best known for the State Fair of Texas that is held every year for approximately 4 weeks, from late September through October. The Cotton Bowl, Dilbeck Architecture Dallas TXlocated in the center of this complex, is widely known for the annual Texas – Oklahoma football game, as well as many other sporting events. The Women’s Museum, Hall of State MuseumScience Museum and Aquarium are also located here.

East Dallas is also the location for one of our largest hospital complexes, Baylor Medical Center of Dallas.
