How the Ratings are Determined
The Texas Education Agency has rated all school districts and their individual campuses based on test scores, attendance rates and dropout rates.
Exemplary: 90% passing in each TAKS subject with a high school completion rate of 95%
Recognized: 80% passing in each TAKS subject with a high school completion rate of 85%
Acceptable: 70% passing in reading, writing and social studies, 65% in math and 60% in science with
a high school completion rate of 75%
Unacceptable: Below acceptable standards with a high school completion rate below 75%
Not Rated: The State does not ate schools that serve only students in kindergarten and pre-
kindergarten, some alternative education schools and some charter schools in their first
year of operat
